A recent report has shown that with more and more people now deciding to take their holidays within the UK rather than heading abroad the purchase of a stylish caravan is now considered a good investment.

Officials have said that these days consumers are able to buy stylish state of the art caravans that are a world away from the tiny, flimsy caravans of the past, and more and more people are opting to purchase a caravan so that they can take affordable holidays in this country.

The Caravan Club has recently reported that holiday bookings have increased by around 40 percent compared to last summer, and the club now boasts a number of celebrity members including actress and singer Billie Piper, and superstar Helen Mirren. There are also many celebrity fans of caravanning, including Take That member Mark Owen. Another caravan club, the Camping and Caravanning Club has also reported a sharp increase in interest.

One caravan company has recently designed a state of the art model that retails from £75,000. The founder of Boutique Caravans said that there was a gap in the market that he decided to fill, and designed the Indy home, which boasts state of the art features such as top quality kitchens, fill size beds, and power showers. These can be used as holiday homes, but can also be used in the garden as additional accommodation or even as an office.

He said: ‘The benefits are it can be delivered on a truck and installed in a day, so there’s less impact on the environment than building an extension. And it’s far cheaper than an extension or home office.’

He added that the Indy was energy efficient and boasted under floor heating as well as many other features.
