Many wasting money on unreliable broadband

Reliability is the most important thing customers in Britain are looking for from their broadband provider according to a recent survey from a popular broadband news website.

When asked to pick the most important aspect of their broadband service 34 percent of respondents said that it was reliability, out of the 4000 broadband service users questioned in the survey.

The number of users saying that speed was the most important factor came out at 30 percent, whilst only 24 percent of users said that value for money was the main thing they looked for, which puts reliability at the top of the survey.

These results are no great surprise for expert and users alike with many customers choosing not to take out triple-play TV, phone and broadband packages because of the possible poor quality and high levels of downtime of the broadband connection.

The number of recipients that felt that broadband service providers had not given them the level of service that was promised came to 47 percent according to the results of the survey.

A spokesman for the news website said “Nine years after broadband was first introduced in the UK, it’s troubling to find that nearly half of broadband customers claim that the service isn’t living up to their expectations.”

Although many broadband providers are working hard to improve to quality and speed of their broadband services rather than simply driving down prices to compete with rivals there is still a huge issue with the actual speed of most broadband connections, which fall far short of the speeds advertised.

He went on to add “The main reason for dissatisfaction is overwhelmingly because of broadband speed, demonstrating that ISPs are still falling short when it comes to meeting their customer’s expectations after advertising unattainable headline speeds in the media.”

With so many people being disappointed in their Internet Service Provider and in the quality of service and reliability that they are getting it has become essential for those that do not want to waste their money on a service that is more frustrating than it is beneficial to do a little research and compare different broadband packages and services before making any commitment and paying out their hard earned cash.

Most consumers are now savvy enough to compare different broadband services and packages using something like a comparison site, and this is a very effective way of finding a suitable package at a price that is affordable.

However, it is also important to get a real idea of what the quality of service and reliability levels of the service are like, and you can do this by looking at online reviews of a particular provider, package, or service.

By looking at reviews you can learn more about what existing users of a particular provider or package think about the benefits, reliability, speeds, and other features of the package, and this can help you to make a far more informed decision with regards to the package and provider that they choose.
