Food prices continue to soar

A recent report has shown that food prices are continuing to soar and add further pressure to already strained household finances, with food inflation thought to have gone up by around 7% in the space of a year. It is thought that the rate of inflation could rise even higher as a result of the increase in food prices, and many households are finding it harder and harder to keep up with costs, with living costs going up so sharply. According to a recent report the cost of energy could soar by a massive amount, which could add around £400 on the average annual gas bill, which will add further strain to household finances. It is thought that bills could rise by as much as 40%, with a further round of price hikes due to take place in the autumn. Energy suppliers have already increased prices once this year, with pretty hefty increases that were brought in at the beginning of the year. Read more
